Jonathan is the Managing Director of UCan Play and directs the work at the UCan Studios. He has enjoyed a long career in music education, having wroked for two high schools and co-led the largest PGCE course in the UK at Manchester Metropolitan University. Jonathan is your point of contact for all studio activities. In addition to his work managing UCan Play, Jonathan is a published author and editor having written for Routledge, the Open University Press and Sage. He is Chair of Trustees for the Love Music Trust, the music education hub serving his home county of Cheshire East. 

Stan Scott is a graduate from the Royal Northern College of Music’s Popular Music course where he studied bass guitar. During his time at college, as well as performing at numerous gigs in Manchester and around the north west of England, he has been developing his production techniques in the studio. A local from Sandbach, Stan also assists musical ensembles with the Love Music Trust as well as teaching bass guitar. Since 2020, Stan has been focusing on production & remote recording via Ableton and other asepects of electronic music production. Stan is one of our studio engineers as well as our bass guitar tutor.

Ryan Byrne is one of our guitar tutors here at UCAN Studios. With 20 years experience of playing electric & acoustic guitar Ryan is able to teach a wide variety of genre’s and techniques from beginners to the instrument to the more advanced player. Ryan enjoys playing live music around the local areas and has supported popular progressive rock & jazz bands. He has experience in music production and distribution with his own works on major music platforms such as Spotify,  Apple & Amazon music. He has also produced music videos for local artists helping them perform during lock-down to participate in virtual concerts.
